K.S. Construction was formed in August 1994. The company's founder and president is Kevin H. Sutherland.

Before starting the business, Mr. Sutherland actively sought the advice of pre and post business advisors, family and former supervisors. The most valued advice provided by these people, as they started the business was: Delivering a quality product ahead of schedule, satisfying the customer which leads to retention, keeping the overhead at a minimum, and steadily increase bonding capacity.

The principal reason that led to Kevin Sutherland to start this business was: The opportunity to deliver a high quality product to the industry, where he could utilize the skills, tools and work ethic he acquired during his 6 1/2 years in the Air National Guard. Mr. Sutherland received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant.
